You know it's good to know what we're doing anytime. Why should you lose weight. Why? Is it to be like one of your slim friends? Do you have a clothes that you've always wanted but you can't wear it because of your body shape? You must have a reason for wanting to lose your weight. 

Social reasons is one but it should not be a compelling reason for me to reduce my body fat.

 Clothing? There are professional tailors around to give you the best. So clothing shouldn't be the reason. 

Today, we're going to talk about why we must put our weight, fat (BMI) in check.

What you're going to learn is not about pills that'll make you Lean in a week or two, we're not going to talk about rigorous exercise that'll make you lose weight---exercise is good but it might cause you another problem if you don't have enough vitamins in your body.  You'll read about how you'll put your Weight under control without:
1) going to gym
2) Exercising, you'll lose weight even while you are on your computer everyday and 
3) having to starve yourself, that's punishment

So why should we lose weight?,

There are many health benefits concerning the weight loss. I mean healthy weight loss.
Healthy weight loss will make you more energetic, that's you can do anything want to do quickly without being tired easily.

Healthy weight will make you escape most of the life threatening diseases, the common one is heart diseases. This always results from the low density lipoprotein (LDL) from the various fatty foods we eat everyday. 

When it accumulate too much, there's a kind of decaying ( chemically, we call it oxidation) that will take place, to make the cholesterol release a substance, called, Plaque. Plaque will attach it self to the wall of your heart, it's very hard to remove, it's like a gum or glue. This'll keep building till the whole heart becomes covered. 

This can make you have a heart disease, especially high blood pressure, sometimes heart failure

So am I saying that you should avoid gathering cholesterol reach substance? No, we need some of the good ones, called High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) to help us transport fats in the body to the liver, so the liver will be able to eliminate them. These are a plus to our body. The one you should avoid or at least keep it low are the low density lipoprotein, there are the ones that'll never burn out of the system. There are the reason you are doing all the weight loss exercise to burn them out.

Again, if these bad cholesterols gather around the artery, they'll tend to narrow the Wall of the artery. This will make blood flow sometimes difficult. The extreme case of this will result to Hypertension, a condition when the blood forces to flow  around a wall of narrow arteries.

  In a nutshell, keeping your cholesterol low is the main reason behind the weight loss program.

 As you'reading every word of this article, you'll notice how you'll eliminate your bad cholesterols from your  system, without doing any expensive weight loss program or exercise of any kind, especially if you hardly have time for rigorous exercise programs.

So let's go...

There's another great benefit in keeping your weight in check. At times, Obesity---a condition involving excessive body fat that increases the risk of health problems, is another great reason for a weight loss program.

How this affects our health if we don't keep it in check?

Apart from excess body fat gathered from obesity, you'll suffer from:

1) back pain

2) snoring--- you know how disgusting it is if someone is snoring, especially when you
sleep near the person. You'll never have a restful night.  This in extreme case, can cause problems in some marriages. While snoring can be another symptoms of other chronic health conditions, obesity is a common cause of snoring---difficuty of airflow around your relax tissue. This will cause a sagging tissue to start vibrating. Weight management can safe you from this.

Another reason to consider Healthy weight loss is to avoid the type 2 diabetes.  Type 2 diabetes is the chronic conditions that affect the way  your body processes blood sugar (glucose). You'll feel excessive thirst and excessive eating habit.

Ok, now that you know how important weight loss is, let's now understand what's normal and abnormal way around this.

Don't lose more than 1 to 2 pounds (0.45-- 0.9kg) in a week. Anything more than that is too fast. So that You'll not prone yourself to cancer cells (this is a topic of another day).

If you're suffering from cancer, especially symptoms like fever, extreme tiredness (fatigue), the cancer cells are eating up some of the food substances that might give you energy, don't involve yourself in any type of weight loss program.

Weight loss of 10 pounds, or 5 percent of body weight over a period of 6 to 12 months is considered unexplained, especially, if you're not into any weight loss program. This is a sign of disease but I'm not talking about that here. Our topic here is healthy weight loss.

Briefly, before going into the list, I'll like to tell you how food is being used in your our bodies. Our bodies convert food into various forms of energies---that make us fit for our everyday activities.

We get energy from carbohydrates, protein and fat, the main source of our energy is from carbohydrate. The body convert carbohydrate into glucose, a type of sugar.

Many foods contains a combination of carbohydrate, protein and fat... No major food is exclusively a carbohydrate or protein or fat. There are all present in percentages, now let's say you have a yam or rice now. It's carbohydrate is present in highest percentage than protein and fat. This type of food is completely converted into glucose.

So foods like bread, rice, pasta fruit, vegetables sugar, yogurts and milk are 100 percent converted into glucose. This affects the blood sugar levels quickly within few hours after meal.

Foods like fish, meat, cheese, peanut, butter have proteins in highest percentage. Some are only converted into glucose. This type of glucose are stored in the liver and are not released into the blood stream. So eating protein has a little impact on the blood sugar.

 We're getting somewhere,  let's dig deep

Foods like butter, avocado, olive oil convert only a small percentage into glucose. This type of glucose is absorbed very slowly and will not cause an immediate rise in blood sugar.

The glucose we're getting from fat is very small but any food that's high in fat can affect how the body digest carbohydrates.

Of all the list of food that we have, which one should we consider most if we want to lose weight?

We'll consider those that are high in protein  and low in fat. Consider the following list of foods if you want to lose weight naturally:

1)Egg
2) Leavy Greens---- Kale, Spinach, etc : It will make you eat well without gathering calories.
Leaves  are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to aid the burning of fat in the body.
3) Fatty Fish--- we need Salmon oil from Fatty Fish. It'll keep you healthy and very satisfying. It'll keep you full for  long hours. With low calorie, it's high in protein.
4) Cruciferous Vegetables: these include cabbage, Brussels sprouts, Broccoli. There are high in fibre . They contains alot of proteins

5) Lean Beef and chicken Breast: they are weight loss friendly.
6)  Boiled potatoes: they are high in potassium. They'll make you full for a long time

1) avocados

3) whole grains
